Barrier ID tag and maintenance log

We leave a QR-coded ID tag plate on every line we build or whose inspection and maintenance log we keep. Whoever is on site scans it with a phone and sees what the system is, when it was installed, when it was last inspected and what has happened to it. A protection system is not finished on the day it is installed; when a rock hits, a net tears or maintenance falls due, it must be clear who will know.

How it works

  1. The plate on site. A stainless ID tag plate is fitted at the beginning and the end of the line. It carries a QR code, an eight-character code and an emergency phone number.
  2. Scan and see. The QR code is read with a phone. No app, no account. The system identity and the maintenance status open.
  3. Report what you see. Rockfall, damage or a missing part is reported with a photograph; the report lands directly with our team.
  4. Written into the log. Inspection, maintenance, event and repair records are written to the tag with their dates. The system stays traceable for its whole life.

What it gives

  • To the authority: the identity of the line and its maintenance calendar at one address; a record that accompanies the documents at handover and in audits. It does not replace the declaration of performance, the ETA or the installation documents.
  • To the contractor: the answer to "which system was installed here" at hand years later.
  • To the road user: an address to report a fallen rock, with no phone number to look up.
  • To us: real event data from the field; our next designs improve on it.

ID tag and monitoring on an existing line

The ID tag is not only for newly built lines. On an existing line the first step is a document review and a zero-point inspection. If the line carries a monitoring device (Geobrugg GUARD), its notifications and the inspection that follows go into the same log. If the location of the line is stored on the tag, nearby earthquakes above a set magnitude are entered in the log automatically from the data of AFAD, Türkiye's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority. Details: rockfall barrier monitoring.

Privacy

  • The tag page does not publish the project name, the client or coordinates. Only the technical identity of the system and the maintenance record are visible.
  • The contact details of whoever files a report are not published; they are used only to get back to that person.
  • Reports are reviewed before publication. A record that is not approved does not enter the log.

Request a survey or a quote Documents (Turkish)

Let's solve it together.

A few photographs and a location are enough; an engineer replies about a survey, a quotation or a specification.
